Hallfield is involved with the Aerospace and Defense market in a few different ways. Our strongest background is in building Test & Measurement equipment to support design processes, production testing, and certification. This equipment tends to be built from a set of strict specifications that are either entirely written by our customers or developed together in joint-venture depending on whether customers need our specialized expertise to determine appropriate methods. Our start in this market began with our Fluid & Control Systems market and has since expanded.

In more recent years we've had the opportunity to work with customers in direct Aerospace and Defense applications. The bulk of this work has been taking reliable commercial grade equipment and upgrading the necessary aspects of the design to meet the application's commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) requirements. In most cases, this requires revising a design to use a higher grade of environmentally rated components, many of which have specifications tested under MIL-STD-810.
